Overview

The Procurement Manager is responsible for working closely with internal customers and external suppliers across multiple locations & functional areas toward the successful delivery of materials, equipment and special projects to meet businesses’ requirements.

About Belize Sugar Industries (BSI)

Belize Sugar Industries Ltd. (BSI) was founded in 1963 and has been producing sugar in the northern town of Orange Walk since 1967. An efficient sugar operation at Tower Hill is the foundation of the nation's sugar industry, which is of vast societal importance to Belize, supporting 15 percent of the country's population.

The Procurement Manager is responsible for working closely with internal customers and external suppliers across multiple locations & functional areas toward the successful delivery of materials, equipment and special projects to meet businesses’ requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or related to the Supply chain field from an accredited university
  • 7-10 years of experience working in Procurement or related procurement field (i.e. industrial equipment)
  • Advanced Degree/MBA is a plus
  • Bi-lingual capability is required (English/Spanish)

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements cost savings and process improvement projects to improve efficiencies for operations
  • Prepares executive presentations for market analysis, major projects, and annual budgets
  •  Manages a team of buyers to drive the supplier bid process, supplier selection, and ensure procurement KPI’s remain above target
  •  Coordinates with equipment providers and senior management to develop and drive standardization of equipment across all locations
  •  Monitors work productivity and recommends and implements changes to improve work productivity
  •  Plans and monitors workload for timely and accurate completion
  •  Coordinates workflow and procedures to maximize service
  •  Arranges for cross training of team to maximize productivity and provide coverage for all
    positions within the department.

Salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience

This position will be based in Orange Walk town.
